Jaipur, May 15 (PTI) The Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) Council has written to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma demanding the immediate removal of Jaisalmer District Collector Pratap Singh for alleged repeated misbehaviour with senior RAS officers.
The council warned that officers may resort to a statewide strike if action is not taken.
In the letter dated May 15, the RAS Council cited multiple incidents where the collector allegedly used derogatory language and pressured officers to act against administrative norms.
The letter states that Prabhjot Singh Gill, who was recently transferred from Pokharan to Mundawa as Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), was allegedly pressured by the collector to not take action against a private finance company and a solar tower firm. It also claims that during an official meeting, the collector questioned Gill’s competence.
The Council also highlighted an incident from April 3, when the collector allegedly made similar remarks to another officer, Mukesh Kumar Meena, currently serving in the Colonisation Department.
The Council said no action has been taken against him despite a formal complaint made earlier in April.
“If no steps are taken, the RAS officers will be forced to boycott work to protect their dignity,” the Council warned, adding that they do not wish to disrupt government functioning. PTI AG KSS KSS
