Jaipur, Sep 26 (PTI) Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade on Saturday called for awareness about haemophilia, a rare bleeding disorder, and the treatment available for it.
Launching the National Haemophilia Awareness Campaign here, Bagde said more than three-fourths of people suffering from the disorder worldwide are not diagnosed in time, delaying treatment and allowing the condition to worsen.
“Haemophilia, which causes excessive bleeding, is not an issue confined to the health sector. It is also connected with society, family, education, employment and social justice,” he said.
The governor launched the campaign organised by the Haemophilia Federation and urged healthcare professionals to serve patients with dedication, according to a release.
Bagde also referred to the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, saying eligible families are provided free and cashless treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh annually under the scheme. PTI SDA APL
