Jaipur, Apr 22 (PTI) A woman worker was killed and two others sustained serious burn injuries after a fire broke out at an electrical equipment manufacturing unit in Kartarpura industrial area of Jaipur on Wednesday evening, police said.

Mahesh Nagar SHO Suresh Yadav said the deceased has been identified as Goma Devi, a native of Uttar Pradesh, who was working at the factory.

The injured workers, identified as Abhishek and Manoj, natives of Bihar currently residing in Nandpuri, Sodala, have been admitted to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

The fire broke out in the factory when a furnace was operational, and sparks triggered a blaze that quickly spread across the premises, according to police.

Thick smoke engulfed the area, causing panic among nearby residents, who alerted police and fire services. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after nearly one and a half hours of effort.

Police said the factory owner is being questioned, and further investigation is going on. PTI SDA PRK
