Jaipur, Jun 18 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved development projects worth Rs 18.86 crore to strengthen infrastructure in agricultural produce market committees (APMC) across the state.
The approved works include construction of mandi yards, development of link roads and repair of damaged roads in several mandi samitis, including Sojat City (Pali), Palsana and Srimadhopur (Sikar), grain market Bikaner, Merta City (Nagaur) and Dudu (Jaipur), a statement said.
The statement said the projects aim to improve basic facilities for farmers and traders, facilitate smoother transportation of produce to markets and boost agricultural marketing activities. Improved connectivity is also expected to increase arrival of crops in mandis and enhance revenue.
In a separate decision, the chief minister has also approved appointment of 50 medal-winning athletes as junior assistants in the Secondary Education Department.
These athletes, who have won medals in national and para-national championships, have been found eligible after due verification and will be posted soon, it said.
