Jaipur, Apr 30 (PTI) Parts of Rajasthan have witnessed a slight dip in temperatures over the past few days due to dust storms and light rainfall, with maximum temperatures hovering around 40-42 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department said on Thursday.
Phalodi was the hottest place in the state on Wednesday at 43.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Chittorgarh at 43.4 degrees, while the state capital Jaipur recorded 41 degrees, officials said.
Another western disturbance along with easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal is likely to impact the state over the next four to five days, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds of 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rainfall in some areas, the Met office said.
Maximum temperatures are currently hovering around the normal range of 40-42 degrees Celsius, it said.
The department said the weather activity is expected to keep temperatures near normal and provide partial relief from heatwave conditions across most parts of the state.
However, maximum temperatures may still reach 43-45 degrees Celsius in the south-western regions over the next two to three days, while other areas are likely to record between 40-43 degrees Celsius. PTI AG APL APL
