New Delhi, Sep 29 (PTI) The Railway Ministry has approved the introduction of two MEMU train services connecting Meerut City with Khurja and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
“The services will operate as Train No. 64573/64574 Khurja-Meerut City MEMU and Train No. 64580/64579 Saharanpur-Meerut City MEMU,” a ministry’s press statement said on Tuesday without specifying any date for commencement of their services.
Officials said that train no. 64573 Khurja-Meerut City MEMU will depart from Khurja at 13:15 hrs and arrive at Meerut City at 17:20 hrs, covering the journey in four hours and five minutes.
“In the return direction, Train No. 64574 Meerut City-Khurja MEMU will depart from Meerut City at 11:25 hrs and reach Khurja at 16:00 hrs, covering the journey in four hours 35 minutes,” they added.
The service will have commercial stoppages at all enroute stations, providing connectivity to passengers across the section.
The ministry said that the second service, train no. 64580 Saharanpur-Meerut City MEMU, will depart from Saharanpur at 05:50 hrs and arrive at Meerut City at 08:10 hrs, completing the journey in two hours and 20 minutes.
“In the opposite direction, train no. 64579 Meerut City-Saharanpur MEMU will depart from Meerut City at 17:45 hrs and reach Saharanpur at 20:40 hrs, with a journey time of two hours 55 minutes,” it added.
