New Delhi, Apr 23 (PTI) BJP president Nitin Nabin on Thursday called Rahul Gandhi an “immature politician”, and claimed that the way the Congress leader behaves and speaks reflects his improper political growth.
In an interview with News18 Network, Nabin also alleged that Gandhi functions with an “anarchist mindset” and does not understand the “gravity of things”.
“The leader of the opposition (in Lok Sabha) is part of the government. But look at his activities, working and language, both inside and outside Parliament. Does a leader of opposition, that too from a national party, speak in such a manner?” Nabin said.
“I believe that Rahul Gandhi is an immature politician, whose political growth, in some way, has not been proper,” he added.
Asked about Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent ‘terrorist’ jibe targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nabin said the Congress president is “helpless” and uses words that Gandhi’s PR agency asks him to use.
“I would say that whatever words Rahul Ji’s inner circle and his PR agency suggest to him, ‘bechare’ (helpless) Kharge ji keeps repeating them,” Nabin alleged.
He also said the Congress has been insulting Prime Minister Modi for a long time due to its “petty mindset”, and Kharge appears to be emerging as the torchbearer of the tradition established by his party.
“The people of the country have been punishing the Congress for this, but it is yet to learn its lesson,” the BJP president said.
Kharge on Tuesday accused Modi of “terrorising” political parties by misusing government machinery and central agencies to stifle the opposition.
Addressing a press conference in Chennai, Kharge initially referred to Modi as a “terrorist” before saying that he meant that the prime minister was “terrorising” the democratic fabric of the country.
Taking a “serious note” of the incident, the Election Commission of India on Wednesday issued a “stern notice” to Kharge, asking him to explain his stand within 24 hours. PTI PK ARI
