Chandigarh, May 26 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday held a meeting with leaders of various farmer organisations from Punjab at his official residence here.

According to a statement, Saini assured the leaders that concerns of farmers and the agriculture sector would be addressed on priority “once a BJP government is formed in Punjab.” The Punjab Assembly Polls are due early next year.

The delegation comprised representatives of the Doaba Kisan Union, Kisan Bachao Morcha and members of the Kamboj community.

The leaders apprised the chief minister of several issues concerning farmers in Punjab and sought their long-term solutions, the statement said.

Saini said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has always considered farmers’ welfare as central to its governance and policy framework.

He said that under the BJP government in Haryana, farmers are getting Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops and are being compensated for loss in natural calamities. PTI SUN VN VN
