Ranchi, May 27 (PTI) In an apparent attack on the BJP, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday said that issues being used as ‘political tools’ are discussed more, while there is no discussion on real problems like rising fuel prices.

He was reacting to a question on Jharkhand BJP’s demand of setting up detention centres for illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in the bordering districts of Jharkhand.

“Instead of the real problems, the issues used as political tools are discussed more. There is no discussion on the rising prices of petrol and diesel. The economy that was being projected as on its way to becoming the world’s largest is now crumbling,” Soren told reporters at the state secretariat.

He said that his government is working for the benefit of the people, but their (BJP) agenda is to benefit some handful of people.

Earlier, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo demanded that the government set up detention centres for illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in bordering districts such as Pakur, Jamtara, Dumka and Sahebganj.

“The districts have been affected for a long period due to Bangladeshi infiltrators. After the West Bengal government initiated action against them, the infiltrators are rushing towards Jharkhand, as it is turning out to be a safe zone for them,” Shahdeo said while addressing a press conference.
