Policeman killed, three injured as dumper hits police vehicle in UP’s Mau

Mau (UP), Apr 30 (PTI) A speeding truck rammed into a stationary police patrol vehicle on the Hajipur highway here early Thursday, leaving a policeman dead and three of his colleagues injured, police said.

The incident occurred around 3 am where a mobile patrol team comprising sub-inspector Vinod Singh and constables Pritam Yadav, Om Prakash and Pawan Yadav (38) was sitting in the vehicle.

Constable Pawan Yadav was killed on the spot.

The injured were initially taken to a community health centre and later referred to the district hospital.

The truck driver fled the scene, and efforts are underway to arrest him.

Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Bahadur said “a case has been registered against the dumper driver and further legal action is being taken”. PTI COR ABN DV DV
