Pune, Jul 1 (PTI) A police sub-inspector in Pune was suspended after a video went viral, in which he was purportedly seen misbehaving with the staff and customers at a local cafe, officials said on Wednesday.

The PSI, Sandeep Kadam, was posted at the Deccan police station in the city, they said.

The incident took place around 1.45 am on June 6 at Flying Gypsy Cafe located in Deccan area.

Kadam was suspended after CCTV footage showed him misbehaving with customers and staff in the cafe. During the night patrolling, he entered the cafe and asked the staff and customers to leave the establishment.

He allegedly knocked down coffee glasses and food items placed on the counter with his baton. He also misbehaved with the staff, the police officials said.

A departmental inquiry was initiated against Kadam, and Additional Commissioner of Police Rajesh Bansode ordered his suspension on Wednesday, stating that the officer’s conduct violated police discipline and damaged the image of the police force, they added. PTI COR NP
