Latur, Jul 1 (PTI) The police in Maharashtra’s Latur district have returned 171 lost mobile phones to their owners after tracing the devices under a special campaign, officials said.

Using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and other advanced technical resources, police traced the missing devices from Latur as well as neighbouring districts, they said.

After completing legal formalities, 171 recovered phones were handed over to their owners on Tuesday, they said.

Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe and his team have appealed to citizens to report loss of mobile phones at their nearest police stations and block the devices through the CEIR portal without delay. PTI COR NR
