Thane, Sep 25 (PTI) A traffic police official collapsed here while on duty on Friday following which Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took him to hospital.
The incident occurred when Shinde returned to the city after visiting actor Nana Patekar’s residence in Pune for Ganpati darshan, said a release from his office.
Traffic Police Inspector Sanjay Nalavade, who had been on duty with Shinde’s convoy since early morning, fainted and collapsed at the Saket Helipad as Shinde’s helicopter landed, it said.
He was transferred to an ambulance in the convoy and Shinde accompanied him to a private hospital in the city, the release said.
Doctors at the hospital that Inspector Nalavade’s condition was stable.
Police Inspector Vijay Sangade, also assigned to Shinde’s convoy, had died due to a sudden cardiac arrest last week. PTI COR KRK
