New Delhi: In the third edition of his interactive session — Pariksha Pe Charcha — Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not just interact with students from India but other countries as well. The event is to be held at the national capital Monday.
As part of the initiative, the prime minister talks to students about various ways to relieve stress before examination. He also takes live and recorded questions from students.
According to officials in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the popularity of the event has only gone up over the last three years and so they have decided to reach out to students abroad as well.
The Modi government has made arrangements to facilitate the participation of students from schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in over 20 other countries. These students will participate through live Facebook and YouTube links.
Talking about the event, joint secretary at the HRD ministry, R.C. Meena said, “This time only students will be allowed to ask questions to the PM. Students will host the event as well.”
Last year, teachers and parents also posed questions to the PM.
Meena said they have selected students as anchors this year. Until last year, the government used to hire professional anchors but this year, the programme will be all about students, he said.

The students, from across the country, were selected on the basis of an essay writing competition. Over three lakh students had participated in the competition.
Over 15 crore students will watch the programme live in their schools.
“Not just students from India, but those abroad, studying in CBSE-affiliated schools will also be able to participate in the interaction through live links,” Meena added.

According to ministry officials, the participating students will also be taken to the War Memorial and Red Fort, a day before the event.
Apart from this, the students who are not able to participate in the event will get personal replies to their queries over email by the PM. Over two lakh students had written emails to the PM, asking various questions about examinations and how to deal with the stress. All those questions will be replied to by the PM, the ministry officials said.
