New Delhi, Apr 30 (PTI) The Delhi Police on Thursday organised a pipping ceremony at its headquarters, where 182 retiring personnel were conferred honorary ranks under a welfare scheme aimed at giving a dignified farewell to officers, an official said.
The ceremony, held at Adarsh Auditorium, was presided over by Commissioner of Police Satish Golchha, who felicitated personnel from the rank of constable to sub-inspector with the next higher honorary rank.
This was the fifth such event since the introduction of the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme in December last year.
In his address, Golchha congratulated the retiring personnel and advised them to maintain a balanced and healthy life after retirement, while continuing to contribute to society.
He also highlighted the importance of family support and regular health check-ups.
A total of 132 sub-inspectors were promoted as inspectors, 39 assistant sub-inspectors as sub-inspectors, and 11 head constables as assistant sub-inspectors. PTI SSJ SSJ APL APL
