New Delhi, July 6 (PTI) More than 50 per cent of the total 1.45 crore voters in Delhi have been provided enumeration forms, of which over 2.78 lakh completed forms have been digitised in one week of door-to-survey under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the capital, officials said on Monday.
According to the office of the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), 76,38,417 forms were distributed under the door-to-door exercise that started on June 30, which is 52.64 per cent of the total 1,45,10,298 voters in the capital.
The number of digitised forms stood at 2,78,070, less than 2 per cent of the total number of voters. The door-to-door exercise will conclude on July 29.
Officials said the focus is to first provide each voter with two copies of the enumeration form in the first two weeks, and then ensure faster submission and digitisation work.
They said special camps are being organised across Delhi to help people fill their forms and submit them successfully through the booth-level officers (BLOs). Voters can also fill the forms online.
According to the CEO’s office, North East Delhi recorded the highest number of forms distributed at 10,01,304, followed by West (8,57,123), East (8,04,233), South (7,28,647) and South East (6,63,425) district.
In percentage terms, New Delhi led the districts with 67.20 per cent of its voters covered, followed by Old Delhi at 61.69 per cent, North at 59.20 per cent and West at 58.87 per cent.
South East recorded the lowest distribution percentage at 42.60 per cent, followed by South West (45.45 per cent), Central (47.35 per cent) and Outer North (49.40 per cent).
In digitisation of completed forms, South West topped the chart with 45,186 forms, followed by Outer North (38,937), West (34,687), South (25,923) and Central North (20,787).
Percentage-wise, Outer North recorded the highest digitisation rate at 4.68 per cent, followed by South West (3.40 per cent), Central North (2.55 per cent) and West (2.38 per cent).
East reported the lowest digitisation rate at 1.05 per cent, followed by Central and North East (1.03 per cent each), and Old Delhi and North East (1.10 per cent each).
The BLOs are providing each voter with two copies of enumeration form to fill out their details as per the last Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in 2002.
One form is kept as an acknowledgement, while the other is returned to the BLO. No document needs to be submitted along with the enumeration forms.
The form must be filled out by each voter so that their names appear in the final electoral roll to be published on October 7.
Names of those who fail to fill out the forms will be removed from the draft roll that will be published on August 5, according to the CEO’s office. PTI VIT ARI
