Chennai, Apr 26 (PTI) RMC said on Sunday that more than ten districts in Tamil Nadu have already crossed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Temperatures are expected to rise by over two degrees Celsius from Monday, it added, with Vellore recording a high of 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Regional Meteorological Centre said dry weather has been prevailing over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
It added that “light to moderate rain” is likely at isolated places over the coastal districts of the Cauvery delta, the Western Ghats, southern coastal Tamil Nadu, and Karaikal from April 27 to April 29.
However, “moderate to heavy rain” accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is likely at isolated places over Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri districts from April 30 to May 2.
The report further stated that hot weather is likely to prevail over the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from April 27 to April 30 due to humid conditions and high temperatures.
