Bhubaneswar/Nayagarh, Aug 28 (PTI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday disbursed over Rs 5,160 crore as the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana to more than one crore women beneficiaries at a programme in Lathipada in Nayagarh district.
Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and other senior leaders of the ruling BJP were present at the function, where a total of 1,03,26,162 beneficiaries received the instalment directly into their bank accounts.
Of them, 2,21,054 women received assistance under the scheme for the first time.
The Subhadra Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Odisha on September 17, 2024, after the BJP formed the government in the state.
Under the scheme, eligible women are provided Rs 10,000 annually in two instalments of Rs 5,000 each – one on Raksha Bandhan and the other on International Women’s Day. PTI AAM AAM MNB
