Raipur, May 11 (PTI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday said there is no shortcut to success and that discipline, hard work and a healthy lifestyle are the real keys to achievement.
Interacting with class 10th and 12th state board examination toppers at his official residence in Civil Lines here, Sai said education is not merely a means to score good marks. It is the greatest force that gives direction to life, an official statement quoted him as saying.
“Continuous hard work, discipline and positive thinking are essential for success in life. Education is the foundation of the development of both an individual and society,” said Sai, who spoke to students about their dreams, study routines, experiences of success and future plans in an informal and inspiring atmosphere.
“The students expressed their desire to become doctors, engineers, IAS and IPS officers and serve the nation in different capacities. Appreciating their ambitions, the chief minister said those who dream big achieve great success in life. He stressed the importance of maintaining a regular routine, proper time management and consistent practice, describing them as the most important factors behind success,” the release said.
The CM encouraged them to adopt Yoga, regular exercise and a balanced lifestyle, adding that he himself practices Yoga daily despite a busy schedule.
Sharing his personal journey, Sai said he faced hardships after losing his father in childhood, following which family responsibilities fell on his shoulders.
He balanced farming, the education of his younger brothers and family responsibilities during difficult times, the CM said.
He said he never imagined he would reach such a high position in politics, adding that he has performed every responsibility entrusted to him with honesty and dedication.
“If I had not entered politics, I would have become a farmer and worked in the field of agriculture and farm innovation. Agriculture now offers immense opportunities. Educated youth are setting examples of self-reliance through modern farming, animal husbandry and fisheries,” he said.
The chief minister also highlighted the importance of time management and responsibility in public life, saying he continuously interacts with people across villages through the ongoing ‘Sushasan Tihar’ (good governance festival) campaign to assess the implementation of government schemes.
“Chhattisgarh has been rapidly progressing in the field of education with educational facilities expanding even to remote areas of the state over the years,” the release quoted him as saying.
Officials said the meritorious students were given an opportunity a day earlier to watch an IPL match at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Nava Raipur as part of a state government initiative.
