Pune, Feb 9 (PTI) The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) retained control of Pune Zilla Parishad on Monday by emerging victorious on 51 out of 73 seats, the win coming days after party stalwart Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash.
The BJP won 10 seats, followed by six for the Shiv Sena (UBT), five for the Shiv Sena and one for the NCP (SP). The Congress failed to open its account.
The NCP won all six seats in the Baramati group, as well as all eight in Indapur.
In the Panchayat Samiti polls, the NCP won 78 seats out of 146 seats, while results of 12 seats from Haveli group are awaited, according to the district officials.
