Srinagar, Apr 19 (PTI) Several National Conference leaders, including Health Minister Sakeena Itoo and her cabinet colleague Javed Ahmad Dar, visited a hospital here to inquire about the health of Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, the ailing father of Lok Sabha MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid.

During her visit to SMHS hospital, Itoo met the attending doctors and medical staff to receive a detailed briefing on the condition of the patient.

The minister directed the Principal GMC and Medical Superintendent to provide best possible medical care and ensure that all necessary facilities and specialised care are extended to the patient without delay.

“Ensure constant medical supervision of the patient with comprehensive care by a team of experienced specialists”, the minister directed the medical team.

MLA Hazratbal Salman Sagar was accompanying the minister.

Cabinet minister Javed Ahmad Dar, advisor to chief minister Nasir Aslam Wani and MLAs Ahsan Pardesi and Mushtaq Ahmad Guroo also visited the hospital to enquire about the health of Rashid’s father.

Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, is currently lodged in Tihar jail in a UAPA case on terror funding charges. He was arrested in 2019 and successfully contested the Lok Sabha elections while being behind bars.PTI MIJ DV DV
