The third edition of the National Youth Parliament Festival will be held in New Delhi from 5 to 6 March 2024.
Students from 785 districts across the country will participate in the festival, bringing together 29 state-level winners and 58 participants from each district.
The National Youth Parliament Festival is being organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports through the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and the National Service Scheme (NSS).
In addition to fostering democratic values, the festival also emphasizes the importance of youth empowerment through various initiatives that encourage active participation in governance and community development.
The festival is aimed at strengthening the roots of democracy, instilling healthy habits of discipline, tolerance of the different viewpoints of others, and enabling young people to know about the rules and procedures of Parliament.
The youth parliaments also serve as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of active participation and engagement in society.
Organised from 9 February to 6 March across the country, the National Youth Parliament Festival was organised at three levels, covering 785 districts. Winners of District Youth Parliament — held from 9-14 February — proceeded to participate in State Youth Parliament from 19-24 February.
As a result, the 87 state-level winners will now take part in the finals to be held in the Central Hall of Parliament on 5 and 6 March. Of these 87, 29 who secured first position in State Youth Parliament, will be asked to speak on various topics, with the remaining 58 in attendance.
