Valsad, Apr 19 (PTI) Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Sunday slammed the Opposition over the women’s quota bill not getting passed in the Lok Sabha and said these parties had committed a “sin” by obstructing poor women from becoming parliamentarians.
Sanghavi was addressing the BJP’s ‘Vikas Sankalp Sabha’ in Segva village here as part of the campaign for local body polls.
“We must identify those who are anti-women and ask these Opposition and Congress, who obstructed poor women from becoming Members of Parliament, when they come seeking votes,” he said.
Speaking about the development initiatives of the BJP governments in the state and at the Centre, he said roads costing Rs 227 crore have been built in Valsad in the last six months.
“The Congress did not do anything during their rule,” he said.
Later, speaking in Surat, Sanghavi said if the “anti Sanatan” Congress wins in any ward, it will try to obstruct Hindu festivals in the area.
They will obstruct Dharmic festivals like Navratri, Ganpati, etc, and that is why these “anti-Sanatan” people should not win any seat in south Gujarat, he added. PTI KVM PD BNM
