Ratlam (MP), Oct 21 (PTI) Thieves wearing PPE kits stole jewellery and cash worth Rs 2.20 lakh from a shop in Ratlam city of Madhya Pradesh, a police official said on Wednesday.
A video of the incident captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the shop has gone viral.
The incident occurred at a shop in the Chaumukhipul area, adjacent to the city’s bullion market, on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, said Manak Chowk police station in-charge Vikram Singh Chauhan.
“At least two thieves entered the shop by breaking the door latch. They stole gold and silver imitation jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh and Rs 20,000 in cash,” he said.
As per the preliminary investigation, the thieves arrived at the scene on a motorcycle, he said, adding that efforts are underway to identify the accused based on CCTV footage.
