Bhopal, Feb 3 (PTI) The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh rose to 9,88,533 on Thursday after detection of 7,430 new cases, marginally up from 7,359 a day ago, while the death toll increased to 10,639 after nine more patients succumbed to the infection in the state, a health department official said.
The daily positivity rate (cases detected per 100 tests) reduced to 9.2 per cent from 9.4 on Wednesday, he said.
The recovery count stood at 9,24,931 after 8,409 people were discharged during the day, the official said.
The state is now left with an active tally of 52,963.
Bhopal and Indore, the two worst coronavirus-hit cities of Madhya Pradesh, registered 1,307 and 1,011 cases, respectively, during the past 24 hours, he said.
With 80,530 swab samples examined during the day, the number of tests in MP went up to 2,61,59,270, the official said.
A government release said 11,03,54,844 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state, including 2,61,376 on Thursday.
