Mhow (MP), Apr 19 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday said the hilltop at Janapao near Mhow, believed to be Lord Parashuram’s birthplace, will be developed as a major tourism and religious hub with an investment of Rs 17.5 crore.
Yadav visited the hilltop site on the occasion of Parashuram Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya.
He said the ‘Shri Parashuram-Shri Krishna Lok’ project would be executed by the tourism department.
“The holy site will be transformed into a prominent religious tourism centre with improved infrastructure and facilities for devotees,” Yadav said.
The development plan includes the expansion of basic infrastructure, beautification of the premises, road improvements, lighting arrangements and modern amenities.
Yadav said directions had been issued to widen and enhance the Gambhir and Ajnar rivers to benefit visitors and the local area.
He described Lord Parashuram as an embodiment of penance, sacrifice and justice who upheld ‘Dharma’. PTI COR LAL NSK
