Dhar, Jul 24 (PTI) An anganwadi worker upset with the assault and humiliation meted out to her by a group allegedly ended her life in Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, leading to the arrest of four persons, including two women, a police official said on Thursday.

The incident took place in Kanwan village, the official said.

“The 25-year-old anganwadi worker was thrashed, her hair pulled, and she was dragged to the police station by some people on Monday on suspicion about her character,” Additional SP Vijay Dawar told reporters.

The woman and the other group were counselled and allowed to go home, another official said.

“However, on Tuesday she filed a case, after which four persons, including two women, were arrested. That evening the woman consumed poison and died during treatment on Wednesday. After this, Kanwan police added the charge of abetment of suicide in the case,” Dawar said.

As per initial probe, the woman was in a relationship with a man, and she was brought to the police station by this man’s wife and others, he said. PTI COR LAL BNM
