Panaji, Jul 21 (PTI) The Goa assembly on the first day of the Monsoon session on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the country’s armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor.

The operation, which was launched on May 7 in retaliation to the Pahalgam attack on April 22, resulted in heavy damage to terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and Pakistan. Both nations agreed to cease hostilities on May 10.

The House adopted a resolution congratulating PM Modi for his inspirational leadership and the armed forces for the stupendous success of the Operation Sindoor.

It also congratulated Pope Leo XIV for being chosen to lead the Roman Catholic Church.

In a series of obituaries, the assembly condoled death of former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani, who died in the June 12 Ahmedabad plane crash.

The session will culminate on August 8. PTI RPS BNM
