New Delhi: In a nationwide drive to foster inclusive development, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, Wednesday launched the People’s Plan Campaign (Jan Yojana Abhiyan) for the preparation of Panchayat Development Plans (PDPs) for 2025–26.  The campaign, themed ‘Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas’ (Everyone’s Plan, Everyone’s Development), urges rural citizens to actively participate in shaping the future of their villages, a PIB release stated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a letter addressed to the nation, emphasized the importance of collective effort in creating self-sufficient and sustainable villages. He called upon every citizen to contribute to the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), highlighting its central role in the holistic and sustainable development of rural India. Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, stressed the campaign’s alignment with the vision of a developed and self-reliant India. He appealed for unity and active participation from Sarpanchs, Panchayat members, and residents, emphasizing that every voice counts in the development process.

The campaign started with a special Gram Sabha cum-Orientation/Training Programme in 750 Gram Panchayats across the country. This initiative, marking the 75th year of the Indian Republic, aims to ensure inclusive and transparent development planning at the grassroots level. The Ministry has deployed officers and consultants to these Gram Panchayats to provide guidance and support. This year’s campaign sees a significant collaboration with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), involving over 15,000 students from Higher Education Institutions. These students will participate in Gram Sabhas and assist in the preparation of GPDPs.
