New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Monday commemorated the 12th Passport Seva Divas. To mark the event, a three-day Regional Passport Officers (RPO) Conference was organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi.
According to a press statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, the number of passport-related services provided by the government has increased significantly in recent years. In 2023, the Ministry of External Affairs provided 1.65 crore passport-related services to citizens.
The MEA said it has also taken steps to improve the efficiency of passport delivery services by leveraging the latest technologies.
The government has installed 440 Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) across the country to provide passport services to the citizens, it added. These services are available in 37 Regional Passport Offices (RPOs) across the country.
The RPOs Conference was attended by the Passport Officers of 37 Passport Offices and officials of the Central Passport Organisation.
