Gurugram, May 11 (PTI) A Gurugram court on Monday sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 14-year-old girl in 2022, police said.
According to police, on September 2, 2022, a person lodged a complaint regarding the rape of his 14-year-old daughter on August 30, 2022. Based on the complaint, a case was registered under the POCSO Act and related sections.
After arresting the accused, the police team thoroughly investigated the case, collected all necessary evidence and witnesses against the accused and filed a charge sheet in court, they added.
“Based on the charge sheet and the evidence and witnesses collected by the police, the court on Monday held the accused guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 35,000”, the spokesperson of Gurugram Police said. PTI COR APL APL
