Jaipur, Apr 30 (PTI) A 35-year-old man died after allegedly being run over by a tractor driven by his younger brother following a family dispute in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, police said on Thursday.

Anup had returned home from Delhi on Wednesday afternoon when an argument broke out with his brother Ajit over personal issues in Rasoolpur village under Pacherikalan police station limits, officials said, adding that the dispute soon escalated into a physical clash.

According to the police, Ajit allegedly rammed the tractor into Anup during the altercation, leaving him critically injured. A relative who tried to intervene also sustained injuries.

Anup was initially taken to a private hospital and later referred to a government hospital in Buhana, where doctors declared him dead, the officials said.

SHO Banwarilal Yadav said that the police collected evidence and initiated an investigation. The accused has been detained, and the formal arrest proceedings are underway.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, and efforts are on to ascertain the exact sequence of events, he added. PTI AG SMV ZMN
