Jajpur, Sep 6 (PTI) A man and his minor son were killed after being hit by a train in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday evening. police said.
The deceased were identified as Bisu Penthei (30) and his 18-month-old son, Dharama, residents of Naya Bagapatia village of Jajpur’s Sukinda block, the police said.
The incident took place near Naubahali under Sukinda police limits. On being informed, government railway police (GRP) reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The GRP has started an investigation after registering a case in connection with the incident, said a GRP officer.
The exact circumstances leading to the incident were unclear, he said.
“We have sent the body for postmortem and are waiting for its report. The exact reason behind the incident can only be ascertained after receiving the post-mortem report,” said the official. PTI COR BBM BBM RG
