Nanded (Maharashtra), Aug 28 (PTI) A 32-year-old man was killed during an altercation in Ektanagar area on the outskirts of Nanded city on Thursday night, police said.

The deceased was identified as Akash Milind Davane.

An argument broke out between Davane, who reportedly had criminal background, and members of the Sawate family, an official said.

It escalated into a fight and Davante was assaulted. His mother and brother tried to rescue him but were also assaulted, the official said.

All three sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital at Vishnupuri, where doctors declared Akash Davane dead.

Additional Superintendent of Police Suraj Gurav visited the spot after being informed about the incident.

Police detained eight persons and a case was registered at the Bhagyanagar police station. Further probe is on. PTI COR KRK
