Man injured as multiple cylinders explode at warehouse in Davanagere district

Davanagere (Karnataka), Jun 15 (PTI) A man sustained injuries after multiple cylinders allegedly exploded at a warehouse in this district on Monday, police said.

The incident occurred around 2.30 pm at H Kalpanahalli village under the jurisdiction of the Davanagere Rural Police Station, they said.

According to police, several cylinders had been stored at the warehouse owned by Anil, who was injured in the explosions.

Citing preliminary findings, a senior police officer said around 10 to 15 cylinders exploded.

Police and fire personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and brought the situation under control.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control before it could spread further, he said.

No fatalities were reported. However, Anil, who was present at the warehouse at the time of the incident, sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital, where he is undergoing treatment, police said.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the explosions, they added. PTI AMP SSK
