Jaipur, Apr 21 (PTI) A fault rectification staff of the power department was killed after coming in contact with an 11 kV power line while carrying out repair work in Rajasthan’s Jalore district, police said.

The incident occurred in Balwara village under Bishangarh police station limits, where the deceased, identified as Akharam Meghwal was fixing a fault in the power line.

The work was being carried out after taking a shutdown, but power supply was allegedly restored due to miscommunication, leading to the accident.

Meghwal was electrocuted and died on the spot, with his body remaining stuck on the pole for several hours.

On the other hand, the victim’s father, Rooparam, was injured in a road accident while rushing to the spot after hearing about his son’s death.

He sustained fractures in both legs and a head injury. Two others accompanying him were also injured and are undergoing treatment at a hospital. PTI SDA ARB ARB
