New Delhi, Jun 29 (PTI) A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing a person over personal enmity in southwest Delhi’s Baba Harida Nagar area, police said on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Chattan Singh, a resident of Galibpur village in Najafgarh, they said.
On June 12, Dhirendra (38) was found dead in his taxi with a bullet injury near Khaira Mor. The investigation has revealed that the accused came to meet Dhirendra at Khaira Mor and the duo sat in the latter’s car. They had an argument after which the Chattan Singh allegedly shot Dhirendra, police said.
Police said they analysed CCTV footage of the spot and zeroed in on Singh. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan said raids were conducted and Singh was arrested on June 20 near Kakrola village.
Dhirendra had some financial dispute with a person who is also a friend of Singh, police said. Accused intervened in their dispute, which led to heated arguments between them, including on the day of the alleged murder over phone, they said.
Later, Singh went to Khaira Mor where Singh fired at Dhirendra inside the latter’s car, the DCP said. PTI NIT SKY
