Bardhaman (WB), Apr 19 (PTI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday led a road show in this district headquarters town, walking nearly two kilometres, in support of Trinamool Congress candidates for the assembly elections.

Supporters and TMC workers stood on both sides of the route of road show and she waved at them.

Banerjee walked with the TMC candidate for Dakshin Bardhaman, Khokon Das, in tow from the Bardhaman Municipality office to Birhata traffic guard, a distance of 1.8 kilometres.

TMC supporters chanted slogans and waved party flags, while some of them carried blue and white balloons in their hands.

Earlier in the day, Banerjee addressed three public meetings for TMC candidates in Tarakeswar, Kalna and Manteswar.

The election to the 294-member West Bengal assembly will be held on April 23 and 29, and votes will be counted on May 4. PTI AMR NN NN
