Mumbai, May 27 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta Fadnavis on Wednesday said she has started using a bicycle for travelling short distances in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation.

She also posted a video of her riding a bicycle on Mumbai roads on X.

“Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s call for fuel conservation, I have started using a bicycle for all work within a 5-7 km radius from my home. It is a small personal step towards saving petrol and diesel, while also embracing a healthier lifestyle,” she said.

Earlier this month, Amruta Fadnavis had said she was not going to attend the Cannes Film Festival in response to the PM’s appeal for austerity.

She had been invited to represent Maharashtra, its culture and the state’s handloom heritage at the prestigious film festival in France, she said in a social media post. PTI MR KRK
