Lucknow, Aug 28 (PTI) An unidentified man’s body was recovered from a drain while two bodies, including that of a lawyer, were found in suspected suicide incidents here on Friday, police said.
In the Para area, a 50-year-old advocate allegedly died by suicide at his chamber in the Budheshwar area, police said.
The deceased was identified as Rajendra Singh, a resident of Pink City Phase-2 in Budheshwar. According to his family, he allegedly hanged himself with a wire at his chamber located a short distance from his residence, police said in a statement.
Family members took him to Rani Lakshmibai Hospital, from where police received information about the incident. The family could not provide any clear reason for the alleged suicide, police said.
The body was sent to King George’s Medical University for post-mortem examination and further legal proceedings are underway.
In another incident in Mal area, 45-year-old Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Pipri Kurakhar village, allegedly hanged himself in an orchard in Chakai village, police said.
Police said Kumar’s son, Shivalal, provided the information following which the body was sent for post-mortem. The report recorded hanging as the cause of death.
Kumar worked in catering, police said, adding that no complaint alleging murder or involvement of any other person had been received so far.
Police said they separately received information around 11.30 am that a body was floating in a large drain along the Ring Road, opposite a Maruti Suzuki showroom in Vikas Nagar, and rushed to the spot.
The body of an unidentified man, appearing to be around 35 years old, was found floating under a culvert and taken out of the drain, police said. The body appeared to be two to three days old, police said in the statement.
Efforts were underway to establish the man’s identity and other legal formalities were being carried out, police said.
