Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 2 (PTI) Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan has directed cancellation of the order to carry out repairs worth over Rs one crore at his official residence, Cliff House, here.
Satheesan has also sought a report from the Public Works Department Secretary on why such an order was issued without informing the CM or his office.
The CM had directed not to carry out unnecessary renovations or construction work at Cliff House after the UDF government came to power, a statement issued by his office said.
The department has explained that the order was issued following a safety audit carried out in 2022.
However, the CM had instructed that no work should be carried out as per the estimates of the previous government and only necessary renovation work should be carried out.
It is in this context that a report has been sought from the Public Works Secretary regarding the issuance of the order in contravention of Satheesan’s instructions, the statement said. PTI HMP ROH
