Jammu, April 6 (PTI) Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday met the family members of Sanjay Sharma, the ATM guard who was shot dead by militants in Pulwama.

Sharma, 40, was shot at point-blank range in the Achan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on February 26.

Meeting his family at Raj Bhavan, Sinha condoled with them and assured them of all possible assistance by the administration, officials said.

The Kashmiri Pandit family, which stayed put during the peak militancy in 1990s in the valley, migrated to Jammu after Sharma’s killing.

Three weeks after his gunning down, his wife Sunita along with her three children and six other close relatives came to Jammu and applied for registration as migrants.

Sharma’s wife has also sought the LG’s intervention in a proper rehabilitation package, including accommodation, a job on compassionate grounds, and free education for her children. PTI AB AB VN VN
