Union Minister Jitendra Singh chaired a meeting to discuss the 100-day Action Plan of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, a PIB press release stated.
He stated that the Deep Sea Mission will have a positive impact on the country’s economy. It will help in the development of marine sciences, exploration of flora and fauna, and conservation of marine biodiversity. During the meeting, he expressed pride and happiness on the progress of the Deep Sea mission.
He also asked the institutes to work together for the development of a resilient blue economy that will help in empowering the people who are dependent on the sea and its energy. He further said that the mission is not just limited to mineral exploration, but also includes the development of ocean sciences.
It is the exploration of flora and fauna in the deep sea. This is a crucial part for the country’s future growth. The government has also directed the officials to complete the first stage of the harbor trail by September 2024. This will take about two years. After this, the second stage of the trials will be completed by 2026.
