Ranchi, Sep 29 (PTI) Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari on Tuesday said a two-day digital health conclave will be held here from September 30 to strengthen the state’s digital healthcare system.
The conclave will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he said.
“A digital health conclave of this scale is being organised in the state for the first time. The objective is not merely to showcase new technologies, but to integrate modern technology into the healthcare system in a way that aligns with Jharkhand’s specific needs,” Ansari said while addressing reporters here.
Reputed institutions, medical professionals, technical experts and specialists from the health sector from India and abroad will showcase the latest technologies during the two-day conclave, he said.
Discussions will also be held on adopting technologies that are useful and suited to the state’s needs, the minister said.
Ansari said various issues, including robotic surgery, tele-ICU, telemedicine, tele-radiology, artificial intelligence, digital health records, paperless hospitals and specialist medical consultations in remote areas, will be discussed.
“A 10-bed ICU will also be inaugurated by the CM during the conclave. The government is striving to extend specialised healthcare services to the state’s remote areas through digital means,” he said.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Ajoy Kumar Singh said state hospitals are being equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity under the Chief Minister’s Digital Health Scheme, which is being used by both doctors and patients.
“Digital health records will be created for patients, securely storing their medical history. In the future, these records could be used for AI-based health assistance. The AI will only provide assistance and suggestions regarding potential health issues, but the patient’s prescription will be written by a doctor,” Singh said. PTI SAN SAN MNB
