Ranchi, Apr 16 (PTI) Small hospitals, nursing homes and clinics with up to 50 beds are likely to get relief under the Jharkhand Clinical Establishment Act (CEA), an official said on Thursday.

A delegation of the state unit of the Indian Medical Association met additional chief secretary (Health) Ajoy Kumar Singh and requested exemption for hospitals with up to 50 beds from the purview of the Act.

The delegates said hospitals currently have to comply with 27 requirements, including obtaining NOC from the pollution control board and fire department, approval of building maps and registration from the civil surgeon.

Singh said, “A separate set of rules will be prepared for Jharkhand under the Act. Granting exemption will be considered in the new rules, and they will be simplified in line with Ayushman Bharat and Mukhyamantri Abua Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.” Singh said the grievance redressal committee, chaired by the deputy commissioner at the district level, will be activated.

Among those present in the IMA delegation were Dr Bimlesh Singh, Dr Ajay Kumar Singh and Dr Pradeep Singh. PTI SAN SAN MNB
