Ranchi, Jun 22 (PTI) Jharkhand’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Monday visited the RSS office in Ranchi as part of its investigation into the alleged petrol bomb hurling case, which is suspected to have international terror links, an official said.

The team inspected the spot and seized CCTV footage and other materials related to the incident for further investigation, he said.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had alleged that petrol bombs were hurled at its office in the Nivaranpur area of the city in the early hours of June 17, prompting the police to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter.

The SIT arrested three persons in connection with the case, Ranchi police had said.

Two of the accused were apprehended near Gajhandi railway station in Koderma district late on June 17, and a car allegedly used in the incident was seized. Another accused was arrested from Ranchi on June 18.

During interrogation, Ranchi police found suspected international terror links in the case and subsequently handed over the investigation to the ATS.

A senior ATS official said a team visited the RSS office on Monday as part of the ongoing probe.

“We cannot divulge details of the investigation as they are highly confidential,” the official said. PTI SAN SAN MNB
