Ranchi, Jul 25 (PTI) A total of 748 mobile phones, which were either lost or stolen, had been recovered and returned to their owners in three districts of Jharkhand on Saturday, officials said.
A total of 505 devices were returned to their rightful owners in Dhanbad, 139 in Hazaribag and 104 in Palamu district, they said.
SP (Dhanbad- City) Ritvik Shrivastav told PTI that devices were recovered under ‘Operation Amanat’ over the last three months.
He said many of these devices were recovered from UP, West Bengal, Bihar and Odisha.
“Police recovered these devices because the complainants had timely reported the cases on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal,” he added. PTI RPS COR RPS SOM
