Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 4 (PTI) The Janasena party on Thursday replaced its candidate for Railway Kodur Assembly constituency, Y Bhaskar Rao with A Sridhar for the forthcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Initially, Bhaskar Rao was announced as the candidate but due to unfavourable feedback from the grassroots level and alliance partners, party chief Pawan Kalyan replaced him with Sridhar.

“Though Bhaskar Rao was announced as the candidate initially, reports from the grassroots level and opinion from district leaders made the party chief and other seniors to review the decision to change the candidate and confirm Sridhar’s name,” said Janasena in a press release.

Earlier in the day, Kalyan announced M Buddha Prasad, former deputy speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly, as the party’s candidate from Avanigadda segment.

“On Thursday morning, Kalyan deliberated with party seniors and confirmed the candidature of M Buddha Prasad,” the party said in another press release.

The actor-politician is expected to take a call on the candidate for Palakonda constituency in a couple of days.

As part of the seat-sharing deal among the NDA partners in Andhra Pradesh, TDP was allocated 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies while BJP will contest from six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly constituencies.

Under the agreement, Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena will contest in two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats.

The Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to be held on May 13 and counting of votes will take place on June 4. PTI STH ROH
