J-K Police detains drug peddler in Kishtwar

Jammu, Sep 10 (PTI) Police on Thursday apprehended a drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The accused was identified as Rameez Raja alias Tarif Janda, a resident of Sarkoot in Kishtwar.

The police said the warrant, issued by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, was executed in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure.

The accused was apprehended and subsequently lodged in District Jail, Bhaderwah, they said.

The police said it remains committed to dismantling the network of drug trafficking and will continue to take strict legal action against those involved in the illicit drug trade. PTI AB AB APL APL
