Jammu, Aug 26 (PTI) Deputy Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, Ashok Kumar Sharma, on Wednesday assured all necessary assistance to the victims of a road accident in Surankote area which claimed six lives and left three others injured.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, Sharma visited the district hospital immediately after receiving information about the tragic road accident in Surankote tehsil, an official spokesman said.
During his visit to the hospital, Sharma interacted with the attendants of injured persons.
He enquired from the medical staff about the condition and the treatment being provided to the injured, the spokesman said.
The deputy commissioner was apprised that soon after the accident, Chief Medical Officer Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan mobilised eight ambulances from the district hospital and sub-district hospital Surankote to the accident site for the rescue and evacuation of the injured.
Sharma directed the health department to ensure that all possible medical care is provided to the injured.
The accident occurred when a vehicle on way from Poonch to Shindra went out of control and plunged into a gorge, the spokesman said.
The district commissioner assured that every possible assistance would be extended to the affected families and that all necessary medical care would be provided to the injured, he said. PTI TAS KVK KVK
